As part of listing your products on the Baby Bunting Marketplace, we will request test reports conforming with the safety and compliance standards set by regulatory bodies in Australia.
Furthermore, any claims, such as greenwashing claims, about a product must be supported by a report or claim substantiation certificate from the manufacturer or supplier (wherever applicable), and you may refer to our Marketplace Advertising Guidelines for more information.
Baby Bunting will conduct regular audits and may request additional information to verify the safety and compliance of your products. If this information is not provided within a given timeline, Baby Bunting has the authority to remove your products from our website under clause 4.5 of the Marketplace participation agreement.
Test Report and Compliance Document Criteria:
- Please note that the compliance and safety standard test reports submitted should not be more than three years old.
- The reports need to be in AU format/standards or in a format that suffices AU standards.
BATH TOYS
Mandatory Requirement
Submit a test report showing compliance with either one of the following standards:
- AS/NZS ISO 8124.1-3:2023 or
- Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003
or any of the Overseas standards:
- Europe: EN 71-1:2014 +A1:2018
- International: ISO 8124-1:2022
- US: ASTM F963-17
and
- DEHP Certificate
- Consumer notice no. 11
Additional Requirement
- If the toy is powered by a battery (non-button), Submit a test report showing compliance with the standard AS/NZS ISO 62115:2018 (Electric Toys).
BATH SUPPORT and BATH AID
Mandatory Requirement
Submit a test report showing compliance with either one of the following standards:
- Consumer Goods (Baby Bath Aids) Safety Standard 2017 or
- ASTM F1967 - 19 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Infant Bath Seats
and any of the following standards:
- AS/NZS 8124.3.2021 Safety of Toys Part 3 Migration of certain elements; or
- EN71.3:2019 Safety of Toys—Part 3: Migration of Certain Elements; or
- ASTM F963-17 – Heavy Elements Analysis
Additional Requirement
- For baths that are supplied with bath stands or incorporate the use of a bath stand, Submit a test report showing compliance with the standard: BS EN 17072:2018 Child Care Articles – Bath tubs, stands, and non-standalone bathing aids. Safety requirements and test methods
BATH MAT
Mandatory Requirement
Submit a test report showing compliance with either one of the following standards:
- AS/NZS ISO 8124.1:2023 – Safety of toys – Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical properties, or
- AS/NZS 8124.1:2019 + A1:2020 + A2:2020 - Safety of toys - Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical properties
- BS 8445:2012 Bath and Shower Mats - Testing - Assessment of Slip resistance Properties - Slip Resistant Level (Angle of Insecurity > 20˚)
and any of the following standards:
- AS/NZS 8124.3.2021 Safety of Toys Part 3 Migration of certain elements; or
- EN71.3:2019 Safety of Toys—Part 3: Migration of Certain Elements; or
- ASTM F963-17 – Heavy Elements Analysis
CHANGE PAD or CHANGE MAT
Mandatory Requirement
Submit a test report showing compliance with either one of the following standards:
- ASTM F2388-21 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Baby Changing Products for Domestic Use (excluded Section 5.3 Lead in Paint) or
- EN standard would be BS EN 12221-1:2008+A1:2013 "Child use and care articles. Changing units for domestic use- Safety requirements.
If there are other colours, all colors should be tested under EN 71-3 (Migration of Elements). - Any of:
• AS/NZS 8124.3.2021 Safety of Toys Part 3 Migration of certain elements; or
• EN71.3:2019+A1:2021 Safety of Toys—Part 3: Migration of Certain Elements; or
• ASTM F963-17: Heavy Elements Analysis
The raised sides need to be specified in measurement (how high is each side) -- should be at least 100mm high
