As part of listing your products on the Baby Bunting Marketplace, we will request test reports conforming with the safety and compliance standards set by regulatory bodies in Australia.

Furthermore, any claims, such as greenwashing claims, about a product must be supported by a report or claim substantiation certificate from the manufacturer or supplier (wherever applicable), and you may refer to our Marketplace Advertising Guidelines for more information.

Baby Bunting will conduct regular audits and may request additional information to verify the safety and compliance of your products. If this information is not provided within a given timeline, Baby Bunting has the authority to remove your products from our website under clause 4.5 of the Marketplace participation agreement.

Test Report and Compliance Document Criteria:

  • Please note that the compliance and safety standard test reports submitted should not be more than three years old.
  • The reports need to be in AU format/standards or in a format that suffices AU standards.

PRAM/STROLLERS

Mandatory Requirement

Submit a test report showing compliance with one of the following standards:

  • Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Consumer Protection Notice No. 8 of 2007  Prams & Strollers
  • AS 2088:2022 (or 2013) Prams and strollers - Safety requirements

and any of the following standards:

  • AS/NZS 8124.3.2021 Safety of Toys Part 3 Migration of certain elements; or
  • EN71.3:2019 Safety of Toys – Part 3: Migration of Certain Elements; or
  • ASTM F963-17 – Heavy Elements Analysis

Additional Requirement

  • For plastic & PVC components that are soft and are accessible to a child and that are able to be sucked and/or chewed— Submit a test report showing compliance with the standard: Consumer Protection Notice No.  11 of 2011 - Ban on DEHP <1% diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP).
  • For accessories such as toddler platform, toddler seat, additional pram body or seat unit etc. - Submit a test report showing compliance with the standard: AS/NZS 2088:2022 (or 2013) Prams and strollers – Safety requirements.
  • For pram bags, you need to specify the maximum weight rating.

Transitional Notes:

  • From November 2023, Baby Bunting requires that new prams / strollers meet the requirements of the 2022 voluntary standard.
  • Existing models of prams/strollers on range (approved before November 2023) can continue to be sold after November 2023 (including new shipments of those models arriving after November 2023).  However, if the model is updated after Nov 2023, it is a “new” pram/stroller and then needs to meet the 2022 standard.
  • Notwithstanding the second point, the expectation is that by July 2025 all models of prams / strollers sold by Baby Bunting meet the 2022 voluntary standard.
  • Accordingly, if a (continuing) model that was approved before November 2023 has not yet transitioned to the new 2022 standard, then the compliance team may direct that the product be removed after July 2025.
